Wiener Wissenschaftstage (2005)
Wiener Wissenschaftstage 2005
des Wissenschaftszentrums Wien
(Vienna Science Days 2005)
The Vienna Science Days - from 29th September to 7th October 2005 - presented the past and present, positions and successes of Viennese science to the general public. The opening event, on the evening of 29th September at the Vienna Volkstheater, was a special highlight of the Sicence Days. There was a discussion under the title "What would have happened if ..." in recognition of all of the scientists who had to leave Austria in 1938 to escape from the Nazi regime. Two Nobel Prize winners who live in the USA, Eric Kandel and Walter Kohn, talked, among other things, about past mistakes and failures and about future perspectives in Vienna today.
Wissenschaftszentrum Wien (Vienna Science Center) has organised the Vienna Science Days and their events for different scientific disciplines in close cooperation with the scientific community and scientific and educational institutions in the city.
communication matters was responsible for advanced notice for the Science Days, as well as press relations during the events.
