Tage der Jungen Forschung (2005)
Tage der jungen Forschung - Open Space for Open Minds
Austria, as well as other European Union members, complains about the problem of too few young researchers, especially in the natural and technical sciences. communication matters developed a project on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT) to combat this situation.
On 16th and 17th November 2005, a dialogue event was set up under the title "Tage der jungen Forschung (Days for Youth Research) - Open Space for Open Minds" in Vienna for about 100 students at the penultimate level of higher educational institutions – half of whom were female. The participants were given a platform to investigate, discuss and further shape research fields or ideas with 10 young researchers. This was the young people’s the first concrete contact with research. Their findings were then presented to the Austrian Parliament and the media.
