Fair Fan – An Initiative to Encourage Friendly Co-operation between Football Fans
EURO 2008 will begin in a few months: the European Football Championships in Austria and Switzerland! Hundreds of thousands of excited fans will attend the games in Vienna, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt and Salzburg. As different as the participating nations, teams and their fans may be, one thing should unite them during EURO 2008 – a sporting, fair competition with fair fans!
The four Austrian match locations are Austria’s “business cards” in June this year and are valuable advertisements for the Austrian economy. Nevertheless, they are also the homes of many residents and public safety is an important pre-requisite for a positive feeling among the inhabitants.
The initiative FAIR FAN was set up to contribute to this. This campaign should result in all football fans and sports’ fans getting along with one another. Pictures from and the atmosphere in Austria should show one thing: the Fans of EURO 2008 are FAIR FANs!
