Public Relations for the ARCS Award
The Austrian Research Centers Seibersdorf (ARCS) is the country’s largest application-oriented research company and regards itself as the partner for industry. As part of a comprehensive general concept communicating the variety of tasks ARCS has as a company committed to economic, as well as social-economic interests, a multitude of dialogue groups are being addressed and messages are being conveyed. One example is the public relations work for the “ARCS Awards”, which is part of internal communication.
The ARCS Award is given as prize for special scientific and business achievements by ARCS employees. It was awarded for the second time in 2000. Performance is made visible and everybody in the company benefits from it. The combined know-how of all the people working at ARCS is communicated as the company’s most important asset.
Jury Statement
In this project, the PR company positions the image of the scientists in an unusually open and transparent form of communication and uses PR on a new level. The difficult topic of making science transparent is successfully researched and visualised. The success, as well as the high level of interest shown by partners and owners, is leading to the development of the ARCS Award into a central company-communications tool.
